Cary Smith

MA, LMHC

Cary Smith is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with extensive training in theology, counseling, and trauma-informed care. He holds advanced graduate degrees from Reformed Theological Seminary, Covenant Theological Seminary, and Trinity College Bristol, and is certified as a Clinical Trauma Professional. Cary brings a steady theological and pastoral foundation to counseling, thoughtfully informed by clinical research. Clients often describe him as gentle, kind, and approachable, and he values creating a space where meaningful work and even moments of laughter can coexist.

Cary works primarily with individuals navigating trauma, spiritual concerns, and the unique pressures of Christian ministry. Having served in campus, church, and seminary settings, he is especially passionate about supporting pastors, missionaries, campus ministers, and others engaged in kingdom work. His own healing journey while serving in ministry deeply shapes his desire to walk alongside others with empathy and care.

Outside of counseling, Cary enjoys time with his wife, Annalisa, and their elementary-aged daughter, along with gardening, fire pits, being outdoors, and exploring food from other cultures. He considers it a gift to support those who carry responsibility for caring for others.
